TECBOND LM44/43 is a high performance, LOW MELT adhesive with a short open time primarily formulated for use on substrates with a low temperature resistance like polystyrene, thin films and balloons and other temperature sensitive materials that would be damaged by normal hotmelt temperatures. It should be applied at between 130 and 160°C.  This is a fast setting adhesive that can be used for box and carton closing as it has a high molten tack, it will also bond wood and some plastics however we do recommend the bond is tested first.

The lower application temperature reduces the risk of accidental burns making it suitable for use in schools and for applications that require fingers to be close to the adhesive during assembly. We do recommend the use of thin cotton gloves if fingers are being used to prevent skin contact even though the adhesive is not harmful.

LM44/43 is a white colour low melt glue slug / stick suitable for use in 43mm diameter glue guns with a low temperature thermostat.   It has a service temperature of -10°C to 75°C.  The adhesive is packed in 2x10kg (original box) and 1x5kg (plain) boxes.  Each 10kg box contains approximately 170 sticks:  43mm long, 43mm diameter.

To use this adhesive will need a 43mm glue gun with low temperature 130°C thermostat (not supplied).  The ideal glue gun is the TEC 3200 which we are able to supply if needed.

Low & hot melt glues are thermoplastic, polymer based materials in solid form which contain no solvents, VOC’s or water and are non-hazardous, FDA approved and leave no risk of mould or odours in finished product. In use, they are heated, usually to between 130°C & 195°C and applied through a hot melt glue applicator or glue gun molten to one surface of the parts to be glued, when the surfaces are pressed together the hot melt quickly cools to form an almost instant bond. Generally, testing of a bond should not be made until at least 24 hours after the application.
